C.D error 84

Hi
Anyone else been stupid enough to put two c.d’s in the c.d player and jam it up.
Error 84 any suggestions on how to get the c.d’s out or how to remove the player from the dash would be a help.
Stilo jtd
thanks

Anyone got any idea hoo to fix it? When i hit eject it keeps saying Cd error 84 and there is a grinding sound
My cd does not come out the player is it worth taking the cd player out and fixin the problem yourself?
Also i heard to take the cd player out and put it back in you need a code? but i dont know how to find the serial number for the radio.

Re: C.D error 84

I've got the same problem but i don't think i put 2 cds in there?

i thought once you removed a standard HU and it had power removed, once replaced it needs the radio code??

Thats what I always thought but it doesnt lose it. Ive had the power off loads of times and the HU never needs the code.

Good luck,

Reece

Get a metal coat hanger. Chop out the bottom bar using some snips and chop the bar in half again. Bend them round to form a U shape then insert into the holes on the fascia. Remove stereo and unplug rear cabling. Using a very small torx bit (I think its torx 1 or something), remove the top of the stereo metal casing. Looking from the top down, you should see the CD carrier. There should be a small plastic catch about 2mm in length that you can depress which will release the dvd from its pinion. Then its a case of shake rattle and roll. It's an awkward job so you need a few beers to calm your nerves, but you should be able to extract anything stuck in there.

Good luck :)

Hi all.
The way I done it was with a pair of strong tweezers, keep hitting the eject button and diving in with the tweezers until you grab the c.d then pull it out, lots of silver stuff off the mangled c.d but all working o.k. now.
