Have seen alot of posts about these, and used one to fix the mis-alignment of the worm screws (thanks!). The prior owner said the unit worked, but when I opened it up I found a CD of theirs and 3 pence rattling around in there, thus I don't believe them. 
So the problem has moved on...
Now I can put a CD in and it'll grab the CD, light up a nice green light then pull it into the CD player part itself. It then spins it briefly one way, then another, then immediately shoves it back into the holding area. The HU just says No Disc.
So the HU must be talking to the CDC because it senses me putting the CD in, and I've tried a couple CDs to see if it was a knackered CD. Anyone else had an issue like this before I go ahead dismantling it again to check if the laser is covered in grime or something?
