I am now the proud owner of a 1.6 Active Estate. It only has a tape deck in the car and was just wondering how easy it was to install a CD changer. I think one may have been installed in the past as the is a cable under the passenger seat with a connector that is blank. Just wondering if I buy a CD Changer can I just plug it in?

Also on a side note. Who would I contact for the code for Key fob & stereo as I did not get these on purchase

Many Thanks

Chris

Are you sure the wires under the seat are for a CD changer? The Stilo CD changer usually goes in the top glove box with a replacement liner. Wires under the could be for the air bags so be careful if you disturb them.

For the key code you will need to take your VIN number to a Fiat dealer. Depending on which dealer you use they charge between £10 and £20 for it.

I can probably give you the radio code if you post the numbers from the back of it.

Dave.

Well it looks like its been cobbeled together so I hope this is not the work from the factory. I did read the book and it said the Changer should go in the glove box. One of the reasons I think it may have been connected is that when I press the SRC button it behaves like there is a CD changer there and just asks me to check disc.

Dave -Do you mean the code on the back of the stereo. If so how do you remove it?

Yes, post all the numbers from the back of the stereo.

To remove it there will be 2 small holes each end of the front panel. There is a special tool for it but many people use 4 pointed nails about 3mm diameter. Push the tools or 4 nails into each of the 4 holes about 40-50mm deep then you should be able to pull the stereo out.
