General cd changer price?

any idea what fiat dealers are charging for the cd changer inc. vat and fitting?

I got my local dealer to quote me when I first got my Stilo. They wanted £450 to supply and fit the unit. Better to buy it from somewhere else and fit it yourself. Just make sure that you do get the Fiat unit as Blaupunkt make an identical unit that will not work with Fiat head units. Hope this helps.

My local Fiat dealer, TJ Vickers, Telford has the 5 cd changer with fitting plate on a Christmas special offer of £202 I noticed when i visited yesterday.
I was original quoted £350 for this in April.
however Sony make a compatible 6cd changer that fits to the visteon stereos in a Stilo, bass-junkies.com have this including lead for £150. Not on their web site though so have to ring up with stereo model number. (takes ages to get through)
Halfords also do this packsge but im not sure on price

I Would say 225 inc fitting is an excellent price!!!!!!

I cannot remember the exact model of Sony CD changer, bur remember it being a CDX ..69 - its definately got 69 in the model number. (easy to remember) but i just rang Bass junkies and they kenw exactly what i was on about and halfords should too!!!!!

Excuse Me! I work at halfords, and yes: i'm surprised somebody at halfords knows what they're doing. The term "halfords monkies" (thanks to that brill advert from our great marketing department [!]) has a well earned place in the english language.

My dealer put one in for under £200, i think it was about £196. I do know them quite well, and got quite a discount. But they'll fit it to any Stilo for £236.99, which I think is a good price.

Yes the Sony unit is a CDX-T69, but i'd be weary if it were to work. The Blaupunkt unit I had came thorugh with "Fiat Variant FH" plastered everywhere, but if the Sony unit works, great. I must admit, I do like the 5 disc face-loader being in my glovebox

got my cd changer (blaupunt unit) from bostons of milford , £199 inc vat and fitting.did it while i waited in about 20 mins.
brought a couple of cds to celebrate.

I replaced the visteon radio/cassette with a Sony radio/MP3/CD player and bought a fascia off ebay. The whole lot cost £170. I can get 12 albums easily on a cd at a high bitrate (better quality sound), I don't lose the glove box and the sony stereo is far superior to the visteon. The fascia fits well and looks part of the car, even has a little odments tray below the stereo. MP3/CD players are very common now and start at £120, if you've really got the cash hard disk based sytems can hold hundreds of albums.
Does anyone want a visteon radio/cassette?

I done something similer, got a sony unit, which isnt bad but it really looks lost sitting in the middle of the facia plate, the Visteon radio/cassete was massive.

Thinking it maybe best to keep the Visteon for when it comes to resell time (long time away I know! at least that way its posible to keep the decent unit for yourself

trust me you wouldn't have got it! I've been out bid in the dying minutes too often to not have the savvy to be constantly re-freshing the screen ready to make a bigger bid! [8)]

I'm a little peeved some gimp bid it up as high as they did! Ebay is about bargains, not outbidding to save £20 in total! Hardly worth it really!
