Technical cd 5 disk changer..?

just a quicky i have just received new 5 disk changer 09 ,the one which fits in the shelf ...it plugs into head unit ok ,lights up ,but the head unit dose not recognise it...dose fiat have to set it up ? and where can i get the shelf insert for it ....

Normally have input a code into the HU to config the Changer.

Might be a duff changer? Mine has just gone pop, looks like the motor that turns the CD's has seized.
