Technical CarPlay on UConnect 7" 2016/17 500 S

Hi All,

So I'm in the process of buying my daugter a 500 S around a 16/66/17 reg. So my problem is that CarPlay is a deal breaker and have read that a Proxy Alignment with a Multiecuscan will allow me to upgrade the 7" UConnect to accept CarPlay via USB as per the 2019 MY.

My issue is I obviously don't have the car yet so can't check the UConnect unit but any pointers will be great!

I think CarPlay has to be fitted at the factory and I don't think (?) it is possible to upgrade later unless the unit is replaced. So you'd need to check a car really has it (and don't take dealers' word for it - inspect it for yourself) before buying. The same with Navigation as I understand it (though others on here may be more expert).
