Hi all newbe to the forum and first post!
just replaced the head gasket on my sons cinq its p reg and is 900cc, now it seems to be runing very rich, i dont have a manual or anything, but the carb feeds into a manifold in the head, and is original to the engine,
Can anyone let me know which and where the jet adjustment screw is and which way to turn it.
Any help would be apreciated

I am guessing with your reference to a 'p reg' you are in the UK.

I doubt you have a carburettor, UK standard was fuel injection.

Therefore there is no jet to adjust, its done by the ECU.

Is the management light on?

I'm not familiar with the 900cc Cinq but I think you'll find that unless its from outside the EU its fuel injected?(its a single injector in a throttle body, so looks like a carb)
The fault is probably due to the cold start sensor being disconnected or broken, there are 2 sensors one for the gauge (your's may have a warning light) and the other is for the ECU, this is used to determine how much enrichment to add (choke in old money !)
The other possible cause is the Lambda sensor in the exhaust as I believe they can become contaminated with coolant when the head gasket fails and give false readings (this is used to keep the mixture within the Catalytic convertors range of operation- not too rich or too weak)

But someone more familiar with the 900 will probably advise you better.

OK so i gues from the description its fuel injected so nothing to adjust (makes it easier for me lol)
Whats the "lambda" sensor i dont remember seeing anything electrical conected to the manifold

CHECk the coolant temp sensor. It should be light blue, two pins on the plug and its in the thermostat housing on that engine i think.
Also check the inlet air temp sensor. It is in that picture you have taken. Small bead with two wires into it. It's in the air flow and is connected from underneath the spi unit

HaHa i like the disconect the battery one - if all else fails turn it off - :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:
thanks for the help
