Would it be possible for me or a specialist to carbon wrap the black plastic parts on the bumpers and the rear spoiler. Do u think this would look any good or be worth doing? Any advice would be great cheers.

It can be done but would leave this kind of stuff to a specialist..what it would look like is anyones guess..anyone do a photoshop ?

the only part that I see would be hard to do is the honeycomb parts on the front grill and the rear diffuser.

Personally, I would use a specialist and would only wrap the larger parts, e.g. spoiler, mirror caps, etc. The guy who did my stripes showed me some carbon film and it is very impressive.

Yes I saw an M3 recently where its bonnet and boot lid have been wrapped and it did look very nice and its much cheaper than getting parts made out of real carbon. ;)

I saw a re-run of Wheeler Dealers and it reminded me of your thread. On the show they carbon-wrapped a whole Mini:

The vinyl expert covered some very awkward areas, e.g. the rain gutters, seams, etc.

I don't think I would go that mad but the finish on it did look good, thanks very much for sourcing that for me. :worship:

Yes, thats why if I did get it done I would get a specialist to do it becuase I can just see it going horribly wrong if I did it. :(

Ill let you know how i get on. If you here screams though out the uk it'll be me getting it VERY wrong.

Ah cool, that would be great if you could put some pics up as well. (y)

having followed the thread without a clue as to what carbon wrapping was finally googled it last night. The first hit gave me a site and when I looked at prices it said a small car would be £825. The finish would be immaculate and it could all be removed without damaging anything. Is this true - it sounds better and cheaper than a respray?

I have seen cars for sale where the original colour has been changed using a full vinyl wrap.

Me too :D
