Hi Guys

Av punto (x reg) recently been overheating, noticed leak, thoght it would be okay.

Driving car on motarway, start to lose power. pull over and the car is steaming from engine. leave it for a while then put water into radiator but see it is pouring out from hose pipe connecting radiator to engine, try to start car, turns over but not firing, try again 20 mins later and it seems like the battery is flat. Phone AA and they come out says it is a leak, car overheated, should be able to start once i av a jump and it is cooled down.

Next day try car, feels like flat battery, get a jump and the car turns over fine but wont fire. take off jump leads and it goes back to feeling like it is flat. Any ideas what has happened just so i can get to a garage.
Thanks

yeah you had all the signs,.,.

"overheating, noticed leak"
sounds like you fried the engine, try a compression test on it and if it fails then you'll know the engines is F*cked., might be cheaper to buy a secondhand engine than repair your own one.,.,,.

you can get a compression tester in Halfords for cheap, you just take out your sparkplug and screw the tester into its place, then when you fire the engine it will give you a reading of how much pressure there is in the cylinder.,.,
