Technical car boot won't open

My 57 plate grande punto boot won't open, via the switch in the car or on my car key,

Been told its the boot motor,…. anyone had this problem??

Haven't had the problem.. But its on one of the stickies "common faults".

Think it means either there is water on the mechanism and you need a new lock
Check the fuse if there is one.

Listen to see if there is any noise when you try and open it...

If you can get it open clean the mechanism and see if that does it. If not a new lock may be required

Hi guys new to the forum but the same problem. My question though is can anyone tell me how to open the boot when the electrical release fails?.

Read Andy's post above. There is a link there. Probably water ingress in the lock. I stripped mine and eventually got it working.
