The oil flow TO the cooler runs FROM the Filter mounting and then returns to the crankcase, you have a similar system to mine (see pic) the oil flow through the thermostat (on mine) runs straight across the top fittings (from right to left) to the far side of the cooler and then returns from the cooler across the bottom fitting (left to right) and then to the crankcase. There is an option with the thermostat I have fitted to run the oil diagonally across it, but this is mainly for the 'A' series engines. One note for you, make sure, before you run the engine for long, to 'prime' the oil system by turning it over with no plugs on the starter - otherwise you may see an extended period with no oil pressure until the system fills. My thermostat works at the same temperature and recently held the temperature at 85c after a prolonged run. If you have any questions please pm me.
