Technical cant turn on parking lights

hi I have a 2007 ducato
and today it failed its mot as cant turn on parking lights
it has the black button on the ignition but cant seem to turn the key to park I press the button but the key wont turn back to park
anyone had this problem or know how to fix

Hi,
Have a look on here for a post by corcai, ie re: ignition switch removal etc. He describes how a plastic piece in the mechanism can become dislodged and slip into a position that fouls the key switch being able to turn back to the park position. It may be helpful for you. I can tell you from experience, preservation with the switch and mechanism is worth the hassle. It may just need lubrication etc. Good Luck, Try the link !
