Technical Cancheck message

Tried to avoid Cancheck problem by buying LG CD player, had it fitted by Halfords with Halfords fascia plate. CD player worked ok, but was on even with key out of ignition, swiching of cd cut display but suspect unit still live.
result battery totally drained if car not used for two days - halfords unable to resolve, said punto provide live to unit at all times only fiat supplied cd avoid problem. unit removed money back but now driving in silence while pondering what to do next

you spent loads on car & loads on stereo so why not get it installed correctly

Thank you Danhouse 115 for your comments that make sense, dont understand why I should find 12v cable or what to do with it - however one further query, if I get fiat cd player with cancheck removed will I still have the potential battery drain problem?

was that sarcasm

I would charge £20 installation (to fit any headunit) & that includes running a fused ignition feed, thus no battery drain problems,no need to take it back & no need to sing wherever you go!

387miles....but any garage (auto electricians) should do it for this price or you could do it yourself, been covered many times here & if your stuck you have 44,786 people here to help you

sunroof motor will probably just be 3 bolts so easy to remove/refit if you have to remove it
