Technical Cambelt sensor, Where is it???????

Does anyone know where the cambelt sensor is on the marea ? I've been told that this might be why I can't start my car after I changed the belt after it snapped , i'm sure it's the same as the brava/bravo, I would look in a manual but no one seems to have one in stock in my area, thanks

I would have thought the reason your engine won't start after a snapped cam belt is because the valves are bent...

did you take off the head and replace all the bent valves?

I didn't think the valves were bent as both cams turn round with the bottom cog, there isn't any resistance at all. would you still say the valves are bent if this happens then? and the belt didn't snap as i realised i put but the bottom cog shredded the teeth, if that makes any diff

i would say most definitely bent, do a compression test

How can I do a compression test when I can't start it to get the engine warm, will it work buy just turning the key?:bang:

Cambelt sensor is in one of two places.
Either on the bottom pulley or in the engine block at the cam belt end of the engine.

cam sensor is behind the cam pulley . on20 20v ,best changed at the same time as cambelt. because it takes same labour time as belt change
