Technical Cam belt - Non Interference ?

Pretty sure my 2005 1.2 8v has never had a cambelt change, I’ll get round to it soon but can I just confirm it is non interference so if it does go it’s not going to smash the valves/pistons?

Im a 2004 '53' with 97k on clock and still running the original belt [emoji28]

2005 is still mk2b...
Should be the same 8v engine fitted in all the mk2 and mk2b's

Are the new round plug oil fillers different?

Personally im 95% local in my car
Work provide my vehicle for driving the mega distances so no fish shortage here...

Ive got family who will happily drag my wreck back home

Well, lucky old you. I'm sure most people would rather avoid the inconvenience of a breakdown but then again looking at the number of cars we have towed in with wreaked engines after a belt failure i'm not so sure. Naturally, they get no sympathy whatsoever.

on the motorway slowing down
at the petrol station on startup
first crank of the morning
seized water pump

all these happened when least expected and ruined my turnips

I suppose even if a mini car hits the back of an old punto at 70mph on the motorway you are going to suffer a few inconveniences for a while!

Should be the same 8v engine fitted in all the mk2 and mk2b's

i had a late 2005 mk2b 1.2 8v with grande punto engine

Ahhh, I have a later MK2B with the Grande engine, does that mean it *IS* an interference engine?
