My Marea Hlx 20v is now due for a cambelt change as it is nearly 6 yrs old (97 R ) Ive known about the engine coming out for sometime , however when I rang my local fiat main dealer for a quote he wanted £1100 to replace cambelt, tensioners & pulleys!! No way was i gonna pay that so did some ringing round the best I could find within a resonable distance was £680 all in & a courtesy car for the 2 days they wanted to complete the job. This was also a fiat main dealer. i rang the local fiat agent back to ask him to justify a 100% price gap , gave me some tripe about it being a big job blah blah . Don't think he wanted to do my job do you?? Do yourself a favour ring round for a quote before using the nearest main dealer, you might be suprised by the variety of prices they come up with .
