Bummer :(

as fiat CS have a case open on this...not sure whether to just deal with the garage, or just let fiat know, or both, or just leave it...

maybe this new ECU will be retro fitted....maybe it will behave again...but i do really use the s/s now..to the extent that when i had the courtesy car, i was habitually taking car out of gear, releasing clutch, expecting it to stop...

thats four dealership trips now....

Since the new ECU from Italy was fitted I have had no problems. Six days and counting. Fingers still crossed.

good!...lets hope the 'announce it on the forum' jinx doesnt strike!

has it altered the behaviour of the engine, power delivery etc?

Can I suggest posting an intirely unnecessary new thread entitled "MY START AND STOP NOW WORKS!", just to make sure. Just in case somebody missed it. It's the only way to be sure! :slayer:

The problem definitely seems fixed with the new ECU they fitted. I am really pleased that I have a car that is working probably. It has only taken six months.

Well it's really good to hear that someone finally has their car fixed.

So what happens now? Will fiat now list this as a fix for this particular problem so everyone gets their car sorted? I ask because I don't know how a qualified technician will react to me telling them I need a new ECU, when I don't even know what an ECU is.

I have listed my fault with Fiat CS, but I cannot get in touch my local dealer - Wessex Garages, Cardiff (have left messages over the past week, but nobody has got back to me). I really need to get in touch with them, as I also have a problem with my blue&me system that needs sorting.

I don't really understand what my best course of action is here. Help!

It's now been about 3 weeks since you had a new Italian ECU fitted. Everything still ok? Any side effects?

Well, now contacted the garage again, asked about the ecu thing, and they nothing about it. But they said they'll open another case with Fiat and wait for them to come back with a response.

I wonder how long that will take...

At least there's light at the end of the tunnel, knowing folks are now getting theirs fixed...
