So 3 weeks ago a member on here posted up a thread about the new mk2 punto he had just bought, in this thread member Paulus155 identifies himself as being his dad,

this member then posts up a thread in the punto section asking about his wheels what they are worth etc, with the suggestion being shove them on eBay see what happens.

I spot the wheels on eBay a couple of days later thought its worth a punt at £50 and think no more about it.

I'm out bid by £1 but later I get an second chance offer for my last bid of £50 from the seller I reply a day or two later on Christmas Day as eBay doesn't send a notification email through for some reason

Sold them already, sorry, Ash.

Pretty annoyed you can imagine but oh well you win some you lose some, however....

Look what's popped up on gumtree 12 days ago and look at the name of the person who is selling them? So you didn't sell em just decided they were worth more !?

Pretty angry now I investigate further and look at this sellers feed back on eBay and it seems the person who bought these wheels on eBay and has now left feed back is called "Paulus155" where have I heard that name before? Oh yeah that's right it's his dad !!! If it wasn't for this dodgy bidding activity it looks like I would have won the auction for about £33-34

So Fiat forum member ashleymitch and his fiat forum member dad paulus155 like to use each others accounts to fraudulently inflate the prices of there eBay auctions or out bid if they're not getting the price they wanted, needless to say I've put a report in to eBay and gumtree. Looking back though both eBay account's feed back its happened on more than one occasion!

Given this I thought it pretty important to let the rest of the forum know what these too are up to and be be very wary of dealing with them, clearly not very trust worthy characters.

I completely understand if the mods want to delete this I'm not sure if it violates any forum rules? But i felt other forum members need to be made aware.

No doubt they will spot this thread, kick off and then argue the fact that 'shill bidding' is totally right because everyone does it, blah blah blah ...

I can't believe the audacity of them! hope they do have some comment to make here because there is no justification for what they've been up to, greed perhaps ?

Thanks RuSZ

Well it seems Ebay work pretty fast

Hello Andy,

Thank you for writing to us. I understand you suspect that the member "lancia_ash" is Shill Bidding on their items with the member "paulus155".

I can confirm that appropriate action has been taken in regard to the seller you reported for Shill Bidding and the listings have been removed from the website. This means there is no winning bidder for their items. As it's important that eBay maintains member privacy, we can't share further details about this member's account.

We have based our decision on the information you provided and compared it to our records of bidding patterns before taking appropriate action on the accounts involved.

Andy, we know your time is valuable and we appreciate your help in helping to keep eBay a safe and reputable place to buy and sell.

Kind regards,

Albert Negrin

Well spotted Andy and well done. We can't complain unless somebody is prepared to make the effort to shout foul. The price of something is eternal something else - vigilance I think.

know how you feel, it's happened to me a few times too, i'm selling my coupe alloys on the other halfs account but thats because i'm a complete numpty and forgot ALL my login details

I don't understand why these people don't put a starting value at the minimum they are willing to take, that way if no one wants to pay that price they have lost nothing.

exactly, i've got my wheels on there at the moment, paid £50 for them in june, but due to issues with the stilo, they are getting sold for whatever they fetch

LOOK AT THEM

if i wanted more then i would get someone i know to bid, but i've not
