General Bumble's Bee

Drive and road now clear. First pic is the A6105 at 8am before it had been ploughed and second pic taken with phone so apologies for the poor definition. Some great photos Ricky. I have found it difficult to show the depth of the snow on the shots - it just doesn't look as bad on the shots as it actually has been. Hi Dave - I'm a teacher and the school has been closed due to the weather so I can't really complain. I'm flattered you're asking me advice but, in reality, there are many more knowledgeable friends on this forum. Always willing to have a chat though and I will email you. Best wishes -

Steve

Many thanks for your compliment. Been here for three years now and still not yet finished. This is our 11th house in 15 yrs and, if you're prepared to live out of packing cases and, do a lot of the work yourself, you can achieve a lot for a little. In a better market, I would like to retire from teaching and build houses full time but that isn't happening at the minute. Snow is thankfully melting fast here. Best wishes.

Had the B out and about yesterday. Interestingly, although I have started the car every few days without any trouble, the battery was totally flat and I needed jump leads to get her going. I am now thinking I may have left the interior light on but I'm not sure. Anyway, once started, she went like a rocket and me and 'er indoors' enjoyed a romantic trip to the bottle bank. Roll on Valentines Day.

My B used to do the same thing - a bit of investigation from my ICE guy and we discovered FIAT had misconnected the stereo power lead so the stereo was always on even when it was off. Anything more than four days and no go.

I did consider this, as the radio can be left on when the ignition is off but I ruled it out. Another possible cause is regularly starting the car but not taking it for a run but, I would have thought, this would have led to a noticeable drop in starter performance which I didn't notice. Anyway, bad news is my son is home for the weekend and needs his car, the good news is, the B will be needed to get me to work. More snow on the way in the west so take care.

Lacking taste in colour must be a requisite qualification to be a moderator. Haha. Hi mate - Battery seems ok now. Car ran like a dream today but I think I may have damaged the rear discs by letting her stand for so long. They are rusted now and havent cleaned themselves up like they would have done if used daily.

hey what you mean ?:hug:i love all B no matter what color.

Automatic Volvo XC70 has arrived. Heated seats, full leather etc etc. Like driving a limo after the Barchetta but 'er indoors' has it and I enjoyed the drive to school with the heavy rain being directed to the top corners of the windscreen and then into the B via the small gaps between the windows and the hardtop. Rain then ran along inside of the roof until it was perfectly in line with my shoulder before dripping down my arm and soaking my trousers. Got to school, sat on a radiator with a cup of coffee and had a text from the boss "how do you turn the heated seats down?" Fiat Barchetta - every drive an adventure!
