Hi
I think my MK2 punto came with an upgraded sound system, it had great speakers in the front and a sub/amp attached to the left side of my boot. It's an amazing fit so it must be factory fitted, I'll try get a photo soon if needed.

Any way if you know what im talking about...
can i use the wires off the old SUB & AMP to wire in my new one?

if you dont understand what i'm on about just ask and i'll try and make it less complicated

No the standard sub amp uses virtually no power at all. Any new sub/amp combo will want much more power and most likely set the cables on fire if you use them. (n)

Yes. If you let me know which sub/amp you want to install then i can let you know which one.

To put it simply if the cable is rated to 50w RMS and you try to pull say 300w RMS through it what do you expect to happen?

Dont know the exact model but heres what i do know

twin 10 inch sub box
450w amp
both say splX

lol i know thats probably not great amount of info. gettin it from a mate of a mates for cheap

Thats probably at the top end of its value. Also having one inverted like that isnt going to be very good as one will be pushing as the other is pulling cancelling each other out.

An 8 gauge kit will do but if you ever plan to use more power i would go for a 4 gauge one. Knukonceptz.co.uk do some good kit at a reasonable price. Im not sure whats going on with the distributor ATM but im sure i can get whatever you need sorted out.

If I were you I would get the largest wiring kit you can afford (0gauge). Just for the fact you know you'll easily cover what system you are putting in now and you will also have head room for when you upgrade. And you know you will :D

I would also expect the inverted sub is running out of phase. This can be easily check with a 9Volt battery on the sub terminals. If they both move in the same direction you will know they're in phase.
