Cheap mods...

Chop the standard aerial. take the cap off the top and cut it about half way down and pop th cap back on. I fits better than any richbrook or similar ones.

De-Badge it. 1/2 an hour work (it'll take about 5 hours of t-cutting if your cars red though, as I found out! :()

Oval indicators or similar. piece of pi$$ to do.

Give it a damn good clean (goes without saying) better than spending loads on making it look better because it will be nice and shiny!

'Ornmental gasket' or the front air intake to us mere mortals. Go buy another from Fiat (£11) and chop the right hand side slot out then super glue it in. Makes it look 10 times better.

Other than that I cant think of any, there are a million and one things you can do that dont cost much but you are always in danger of making it look a little too tacky if you go overboard.

Sando, I have heard peoiple mention the ornamental gasket, but I have no idea what it is...can you put a piccy up to clarify it?

As far as i know, that would b the lil coloured oval bit of plastic on ya front bumper.. on my car they were orange on blue/purple paintwork, i think theyre red on black cinqs... there is one on the left (?) if i remember rightly, and if u buy another one you can get it sprayed to match and make the front bumper look more "even"..

Another cheap mod,,colour code your rear light.. spray ya rear lites with spray paint and laquer mixed together,, but make sure u dont go too dark like we did, or the police'll b after ya!

Spot on. The ornamental gasket took me about 20 minutes to explain to my fiat place, in the end I had to show him my car, parked about 10 minutes walk away. When the parts 'expert' got there he said "Oh, the ornamental gasket!" Like I was expected to know what the hell he was talking about! lol!

Any ideas where you can get paint and lacquer mixed in a can? I want a light silver tint to my back lights, I've been asking places who make cans up to do one, but they say they can't.

with cinq's im kinda a fan of not debadging the cinq sporting badge (whilst it has std rear bumper n tailgate) and then with the fiat badge cutting out the I and gluing the F back to the AT (i saw it on a fiat few yrs ago, thought it was FAT :D)

I want a cinquecento :'(

We just got ourselves a little spray gun, cost bout 20 quid, think it was Halfords jobbie. Then brought a can of lacquer spray, and we had a tin of the paint used on my car,, spooned in the car colour into the little glass bottle that came with the gun, and sprayed a load of lacquer in as well then mixed it up!! Then just used the gun the same way u'd use a spray can. Probably not the best way to do it but it worked okay for us!!

Same happened to me. At one point they tried to sell me the air filter box, even though I kept telling them it sticks in the front bumper, it's not under the bonnet! Eventually he asked me to point it out to him on the fiat parts cd-rom :)
It does make the car look a lot better though, especially with the Abarth front bumpers.

I put the FoliaTec red stuff on mine.. that looked really good, but it said "put on 3 coats to get desired tint" I got gung-ho and did 10. It looked great, but my indicators were blood-orange and my reverse light was pink- it stayed on for a day before coming off. Pity. Might try following instructions next time:)
