Here is one you won’t find in any manuals or forums. Having seen it said that the design of the carb inlet spacer is not ideal due to the pockets in the bore where the Cylinder head nuts are located causeI got unwanted turbulence to the air fuel mixture from the carb on its way to the cylinders. Some people insert tubes there that restrict the bore.
When my electric kettle packed up I took it apart to see if I could fix it. Looking at the connection for the cordless base the outer brass contact gave me an idea so I removed it. It was a perfect fit in the spacer. Looked out another old kettle, removed the contact and pushed it into the other side of the spacer, pushed them home and soft soldered them together forming a continuous very tin walled tube.
