Bravo reluctant to start in the cold, help!

Hi Guys,

My bravo is being a bit reluctant to start in the cold. Its always taken longer to start than it's predecessor but in the cold weather its reluctant and sometimes fails first time. It makes the starter motor noise but doesn't turn over the engine.
I don't know much about the ignition system of a car so don't know what to look for.

Any help appreciated!

Bendix gets stuck, that is a small teeth wheel that turns the engine from the starter. It slides in when turning and gets back when you release the key.

In general you cant do much but if you can reach it, hit it a bit with a spanner.

Any idea where i can locate the "Bendix" on a 1.2 engine?
