Technical Bravo II EGR error

Hi everyone,

So i want to ask if anybody can give a hint on what to do next...because im pretty lost here.

My 2007 Bravo Multijet 1.9 150hp, is giving me EGR error (p0401).

If i clean the EGR, and delete the error, i could drive around 200/300km, and then error comes back again.

Tried to replace the EGR for a new one that i got from ebay, and same thing, drove around 200 km and engine light turned on.

I went to a mechanic, that again, cleaned the EGR, and seen everything he said, and error turned off... now i have the light on again...

Mechanic said if light came back, it was ECU problem, that it needed to be repaired...

ECU sounds a little bit strange... for this case and im not going there yet. But i dont want to go to another mechanic to pay more money and then same story, cleans the EGR and say is good to go... i mean.


If i order to disable the ECU, phisical and logical, i assume i can solve this problem for good? thats what i plan to do next... around 150€

If you have changed the offending part, it sounds as much like a wiring problem as anything, a dodgy connector or maybe even a broken wire.
PS this is the MK1 bravo section, mods should move it to the MK2 section.

Blank it off and get egr removed from ecu. More trouble than they're worth.
