Cheers great forum!

I'd like to ask for a small help for a fiat newbie. I got fiat bravo 1.4 12v left-side-steering and its nearly 12 years old hehe.

I can not find any help online, been looking into google for hour, read big service manual from start to end but i still haven't found how to change engine oil.

I noticed engine oil measure thing and place where oil is put in the engine. But i can not find where is the valve or screw that makes oil go out so i can change it all (?), nor i do see where is oil filter located?

Thanks in advance for all help provided!

Oil comes out of a screw underneath oil sump.Think its a 14mm bolt.

Thanks! And the oil filter, please? Is there some on bravo?

I have a 1.8.But i'l go check my haynes manual 4 u. Watch this space :)

Thanks for going to check it. I am watching the space :)

Right, under the bonnet, its located just to the left of the radiatior, underneath the warm air inlet duct.Just to the left of the exhaust manifold.

Oh great thanks!

Just one more question, if i walk into automotive parts shop and ask for oil filter for fiat bravo do you think they will get me? Or do i need some specific number part?

Depends where u go.Fiat dealer can pull up your car details,as can halfords, using your numberplate.one of these to is your best chance. Most other places will probably has to order one in,so u will have to wait.Chassis number is sure fire with most places, and you can easily find it on your V5.

Oh yeah, and i really wouldnt scrimp on oil, cheap oil is really bad for your car.You do get what you pay for with oil,and its the only thing stopping all those moving metal parts from grinding each other away. :)

Thanks a lot for your help. BTW we have no halfords here in czech republic :D .

"halfords here in czech republic"

Or document C5 either, I'll bet.

Oil is unscrew sump plug (18mm) drain for like an hour i think i did it for? then replace and put in about 4 litres i think it was. oil filter - mine was a pig, found best way was hammer a screwdriver through em right by the end and turn it. only way mine came undone!

Sabre 23: indeed we have no document called C5 or V5. But we do have "small" and "big" "technical" paper. It carries the stamps by oficials when it passes check. It also carries numbers like chasis num, useable tyres sizes, perrmited loads, capability to haul attached things etc...

Will: thanks for the info! According the exact volume of material needed, i have accurate information avalible from some kind of manual it says 4.3 litres of oil (into 1.2) - that would be 0.95 imperial gallons.

btw, just curious do you buy oils and gas in the UK in gallons or in litres?

hehe funny ... you buy litres but get mileage in MPG :) confusing!

Yeah, i noticed, since all cars on UK photos have steering wheel at wrong side! lol!

its like us saying your steering wheel is on the wrong side lol..and you say Gas for fuel, when technically ya not using gas, your using petrol lol

yeah those sides lol!

We used to drive on other side in times before WW2, but then some creepy guy named then adolf h. send in his army, and ordered to reverse road traffic so his army would not be confused. (why he came? cos munich treaty was signed - and UK representative signed it as well - so its your cause we have steeting wheel at incorrect side LOL !)

ad gas thing: English is not my native language so i thought the thing we use as fuel in cars should be called gas. Somewhere on lawnmower's tank valve i saw notice "unleaded gas online only" or something like that.
