Brava 1.2 sx fault

I have a 1.2 16v SX Fiat Brava Y reg 2001.
The engine light is permanently on when idle, and flashing when running, the engine seems to run as though it is running on 3 cylinders.
Any quick cures ?.

I'm not proud to say, but approx 18 mths ago.
Full service.
I recently had a similar fault.
The engine light flashed on intermittantly, the engine held back now & again
I replaced the plugs fault sorted.
