Hi all,

Having a great time with my Fiat 500 1.2 Sport (Scrappy Doo) at the moment, such a fun car.

However, now I have coilovers fitted and the road holding is much improved, I've had two instances where the brakes could have been better... no risk involved just personal preference, being used to AP Racing 362mm 6-Pot setup on my other car.

Any recommendations on what I could do to upgrade the brakes on it ?

Cheers

The only thing I'd be concerned with there is whether the kit is for a 1.4 or a 1.2 because the drums may have different fittings to the rear discs.

I've got the EBC slotted and dimpled discs front and rear, 5.1 fluid and greenstuff pads. As Rob says, the green stuff pads are a bit rubbish. They'll hold to some abuse though. I'll put it this way, I was at Bedford Autodrome today and I was on track without coming off for an hour and a half and this configuration held up fine. You have to treat it like an open wheeler though, wait til the last moment, brake hard and quickly and then come off them.

I have a set of stainless steel hoses and ferodo 2500 pads sitting on the coffee table that I have been meaning to install for about 2 months. I'm happy to report back on the status when they're on if anyone's interested. Actually, if anyone is in London area and wants a go of a car with the better fluid, ebc discs and green stuff pads PM me and we'll catch up.

Was in North London earlier this week. Was looking out for forum members but didn't see any.

Anyhoo Brembo do some slotted rotors with this part number FS.009.000
With pads I don't think there are too many options, OMP do some Road and Sport pads and EBC do greenstuff and an Ultimax pad.

I'm fairly sure EBC do a red stuff pad as well. These are the same calipers as the Stilo and they do a red stuff for the Stilo.

This is just for the 1.2 btw.

Not following you? The red stuff pads are only for 1.2 or the calipers being the same as the Stilo are only 1.3?

My 1.4 calipers are the ones with the 257mm discs and I've had pads on mine that are a perfect fit and were sold as being for a Stilo. This is with Red Dot and EBC pads.
