Technical Brake Fluid

I've checked the brake fluid on my fiat and its below the min mark. Due to the fact that i have only had the car for a few weeks i don't know what brake fluid was previously used. And im told not 2 mix diffrent makes of brake fluid. Any Suggestions?

Hi, as long as its all DOT4 it shouldnt matter, as long as it meets the DOT4 standard.

should be no different to mixing engine oil, or fuel from different places. As long as its all the same specification/standard there shouldnt be any problems.

Check the brake pads. The reason fluid goes down (other than a leak) is that more is in the caliper because the pads are low.

If you top up the fluid, then have to change the pads soon, you'll need a syringe to get the excess out. You do not want that stuff anywhere near paintwork, or anything hot.
