Really as it says in the title. Going to do an intermediate service at the weekend on my 08 panda 70 bhp diesel and looking to do brake fluid. I know the Haynes manual and fiat specs say to use dot 4, but I have some super dot 4 (4+) unopened and in date from when I had a jag x type. What are peoples opinions on using the higher spec in the panda system. Does it have to only be dot 4 for a reason? Cheers aus

using dot 4+ brake fluid won't cause any problems, it's still dot 4 brake fluid unlike dot 5 or sometimes labeled dot 5.1 as this is made from different stuff and doesn't mix well with dot 4 (dot 5 is synthetic if my memory is correct, other members will correct me if I'm wrong)

Thanks tshark, that's kind of what I thought, but was interested to hear other people's opinions and experiences. I seem to remember dot 5 is silicone based and the others are glycol.
