Cinquecento Bought a Cinq

Well I joined this forum because I was going to buy a Panda 100......but after a bad experience at Benfield Fiat and deciding I didn't want that much debt I decided against it, but I had fallen in love with the little cheeky Cinq's!

So asked a bit of advice on what to look for and went to see one yesterday... Well it was a bit of a dog, Dodgy ass front Bumper, Sx Front seats that don't move, tinted rear windows, clutch release bearing on its last legs.....you get the picture.

Obviously any normal person would have walked away.......erm I bought it.....

Sooooooo There's the weeee beast! The Clutch Release bearing disintergrated on the way home and I had to Get recovered home but I am now on the road to financial ruin and am determined to get this little blighter to its former glory.

So I've ordered a Clutch and new brakes but if anyone locally has a Sporting interior, or even the front seats and back door cards and a standard bumper please let me know I have cash waiting.

Apart from the few little mechanical maladies the boddywork is rust free, if a little dented, and I think I can deffinitely work with it. I'll try and keep this thread updated

Haha Project is certianly one word to describe it....... My Head was screaming no, my heart was screaming no, but the money burning a hole in my pocket was screaming yes!

Seats are now ordered should be here tomorrow.....hopefully I won't need a gearbox and will get away with just replacing the clutch....Fingers crossed

You headed down to marshalls? not sure about Cinqs specifically but the usually have a wealth of fiats breaking at any one time. Also good to see someone in the local area

I've got pretty much everything I need at the moment but I'll deffo be heading down to marshalls if I need anything else...Everyone says how great it is, I've never been.

Depends like, some days they have nowt others your spoilt for choice, I use it due to them having about 20 mk1 puntos!

Haha I wold not go as far to say nice condition, bodywork is very dented.

It ill be lowered.....prolly 60mm

another one on the road to recovery might be worth replacing the clutch cable and plastic pivot when you do the clutch, they tend to break frequently

looks quite a good project car, get cracking always good to seen an unchaved cinq, marshalls will they have a swift red mark 1 3 door front drivers door? paint code 192? lol sorry to go off topic there, anways good luck with the cinq
