My punto has never had one, you don't need it. The engine shouldn't be any noisier inside the cabin because of the location of the cover. It's there to retain the engine temperature more than anything. Engines work best when there hot.
Gold foil looks better and does the same job if you want to replace it with something else

No. May reduce noise outside the car a little but.............
