can u tell me were to get good bodykits for a mk2 uno preferably cheap and close to if not in the u k

need one to start modding me car joker3

Very few body kits look good on a Uno in my opinion. The Uno has such clean lines to begin with that tacking on an aftermarked kit tends to spoil the overall look of a car. Most modern kits are too rounded and too over the top - the Uno is an angular car and needs a subtle angular kit. There is a Hormann kit that looks quite nice, but they are VERY expensive new and require professional fitting. I think I saw one turn up on Ebay recently.

There are a few kitted Unos out there, but the ones that look good have used customised kits rather than any off the shelf stuff.

The best kit of the lot still has to be the Uno turbo standard issue kit in both mk1 and mk2 guise. Mk1 has sideskirts, arch trims and front bumper (the rear bumper is the same as the standard Uno), and the mk2 has the same though I think the rear bumper might be slightly different.

Only problem is trying to find the standard kits! They turn up on Ebay from time to time, or try looking at the turbocollective group on MSN to see if someone is breaking one for parts to sell.

There are some aftermarke off the shelf kits, but most tend to look :yuck:

Good luck!

there are a few that i have seen but pretty dear delta 1 kit

theres a lot you do with the standard body

take out the roof rails
de lock
smooth hatch
steel arches

the list goes on, all subtle, effective and individual, even bumper changes bring a little extra to the mix, with tail light changes (see frosty and dunc)
frostys got the full kit on his, but seems to loose a bit when he does speed bumps :p

me i'm heading for the cleaned up look, if you must kit up, take frostys route, the curvy kits dont flow on any uno imo

Dont even bother with THAT horrendous kit its disgusting, not just on uno turbos but on ANY car! YUCK!!!

To be honest i wasnt originally even going to fit a hormann kit to my car because like everyone else says the uno has such nice lines to begin with and the standard kit looks very cool. I only fitted a hormann kit to mine as i got hold of it very cheap by luck. But if i was to do up an uno again i would keep it looking very clean, maybe just delocking the doors, flushing the tail gate and maybe adding some G60 style wider metal arches to the body and decking it on some nice euro dish wheels. Check the silver uno a perfect example of this.

And like Jai rightfully pointed out my cars a nightmare to drive over speed humps lol and to jack up in the air is even worse cos of my kit as they are made from fibreglass which is very fragile. Its only lowered 40mm by the way and i still have problems, any lower and i'd be scraping the tarmac!

By the way there is ONE other kit which is very hard to get but does look quite cool and its the DIMMA WIDE ARCH kit for the uno. Havent seen one of these ones in years!!! That side vent does look a little dated now though i think! hmmm

i wasnt exspecting that from you frosty! lol

I remember talking to martin (bloke who had the orange flip-paint UT) and he said a similer thing about it
it was so much hasssle to keep clean n chip-free, etc, etc.

Main reason why im keeping my new MK2 UT black n looking standard!

By all means joker3 mate do what you wish but to be honest i think the original look is the nuts!

the red strip around the whole car go is just sssooooo old-school!

The only italian car that should have wide-archs is an integrale!!
or a classic panda with integrale arches! lol

yeh mate i'm full of surprises aint i?? hehe
Well yeh i know where martins coming from cos the slightest scuff or chip on the paint work is enough to tick you off let alone the usual stuff that UTs are known for lol
Sometimes i wish i just had a bog standard looking UT as they look so cool with simple mods like delocking, rims etc and the hormann kit stands out abit too much lol One thing i'd definately say is a negative point to having a bodykit is that it will add weight to the car, its like driving around all the time with at least one person in your car.

By the way blacks a good choice of colour but its gona be difficult to keep clean mate, same with white cars i guess!! And your right about the bumpers and red stripe. UTs are the only car that can get away with the bumpers being black imo. They look so cool

delta?

as in the company who make a-symmetrical bodykits for fiestas and escorts?

OH DEAR!

just:-
put it on 15"s
slam it on 60mm s/s
smooth it (boot, locks etc)
colour code the bottom half of the bumpers

and your done?

First mod should be lowering, 60mm at least!!!

Next would be alloys. Imo the Uno doesnt need 15s, 14s would do and fit in the arches better.

the list was in no order :p

but in my opinion all cars look silly:
- with alloys but not lowered (on stilts)
or
- lowered without alloys (looks like suspension is broken)

plus springs and shocks are expensive - try £220.
unless your lucky enough to get second hand ones!
IM looking for some!

anyway this is about bodykits. Unless its a custom job or a angular kit that suits the uno...DONT GO THERE.

Thats was the fun about my old mk2 turbo.........

FATE O RAMA(Cheap remould ****!) tyres with 1.0BAR of boost on standard turbo springs and shocks (Front left was fuked!)...........LOL!!

pulling out of corners on full-lock and thinking why is the steering really light?
Coz it was wheel spinning at 15MPH!!
was wet tho!! lol

and changing lanes in the wet on new tarmec using the throttle.........hahahah......now that was magic!!
NO HANDS SEE! lol

15 suite UT's well..........Tipo 16 valve wheels.......oooooooo! yes please!
i had my old UT on G-MAX -60mm kit and it handled good but i couldnt stand it getting thrown about over bumps!!
especilly finishing 14-hour night shifts!!!

i stil have the kit and i might sell it but i still gota look at my "new" UT once i get it.............its on cut springs!!!.............last time i saw it, it looked at least 80mm lower! all round!

chears for the help lads
my uno is a 5 door ie start uno which is gonna be smooth as a babys ass with 15s and decked to the dik
people will be wondering how you get into the things with no door handles
HAHA!!!!!!!!!!!!

cheers for the help......... more to cum im sure

i'm saying a no to de-locking and smooth boots,

and if ur uno isnt black then dont colour code the bumpers, imo looks bad on a uno.

seriously though the looks of an uno should be left well alone keep to the standard turbo kit, just do what ever uno owner has to do and fight the dam rust on a daily basis.
