Styling Bodykit advice

basically choose the merkur bodykit for my tjet, got a 20% discount from them, he then emailed me saying they could only offer 10% so could they ask for a paypal request for the extra cash i said okay then just get it shipped really,

next he comes back to me, after ive paid and says merkur have raised there prices and that id have to pay another £120 odd or get a refund.

am i right in saying any advertised price especially paid for should be the final price? surely theyre mess up with the pricing isnt my problem?

dont hold me on this but i always thought that pif a product is advertised at a price you then buy it at that price it is then your property therefore yours at that price.

but also count it as a blessing in disguise you can save all the hassle get a refund and it helps you to not destroy the looks of your car with a tacky bodykit

thats what i thought! ive emailed him back and said continue with the order but at the price i paid, so we'll see what happends.

many reasons mainly because it was a good base and i got it at a very good price where as the competition wouldve worked out 2-3grand more for similar spec car.

i like the looks of the car in every other aspect its just the front end i dislike.

IMO the GP should be left alone. And you will severely de-value your car. Of you don't like it I'm not sure why you would buy it, I would rather buy used than a new one if I didn't like it.

Indeed, how many times have the likes of Argos or Tesco offered a TV for sale for a couple of quid or something and cancelled all the orders when they realised their mistake!

Generally, If you've bought it, its yours, you paid the price that they asked and it belongs to you. They cant make you pay any extra. However, I am not sure if this is the case with distance selling

Consumer law is very clear in this area. As has been said, it's a myth that goods have to be sold to you at the price they are advertised. A company can refuse to sell you something at a price you see it for on their shelves, should they wish. How else do you think some shops charge different prices to those printed on packages?

However, once you have paid for the goods, you have entered into a contract and they have to supply them to you at the price you have agreed (in this case, the agreed price is deemed to be what they have accepted payment for). They do however have the right to offer you a refund, should they become unable to supply the goods.

If this was advertised through somewhere like eBay though, it might be worth informing them that this has happened. It could be an attempt by the seller to get a good headline figure, which obviously attracts buyers, and then they seek further payment later

What about the fiat range of bodykits like the air dam front and rear. I personally think adding aftermarket will de-value your car. You've got to think of what the next person who drives your car will think with an aftermarket bodykit on, thats my opinion only though.

I don't think he really gives a f*ck if any of you agree with his opinion on the front of the car or his decision to buy a body kit. He is asking for advice on where he stands with regards to his purchase, so if you don't know the answer then why bother posting in the first place to tell him something he doesn't want to hear. Just spamming. Why do any of you care if he devalues HIS car? Its got jack to do with any of you and your not going to loose anything on it.
