Technical Body computer & warranty question

Slightly confused- are you asking about a Body Computer (thread title), or a throttle body (in your post)? They're different things.

Both are covered, though we've not had one fail yet. What's the fault?

Oops. Sorry. I am talking about the body computer.

The car is cutting out at low revs and at idle.
I've been told it is the body computer.

If they are both covered I will make a claim.

Are there any exceptions to making a claim on these parts?

Thanks for the help.

Why are you claiming and not the garage?

Body computer has very little to do with engine running, and certainly doesn't manage the engine idle. Has it had a diagnostic on the Engine ECU?

Yes. Fiat have run a diagnostic and told me it's an error with the body computer. I will get it sorted under warranty.

Thanks. This is a 56 Grande Punto and will be in the 5th year of warranty. Would this make any difference?

If the car is in its fifth year its not going to be under makers warranty any longer, unless you have bought a warranty extension. If the car was bought secondhand a warranty might have been included as part of the deal and if so this might cover it......but only you and your dealer will know these answers.

Prepare to bend over and adopt the position
