Blue & Me - Tech Info and questions and answers

Just a small update on compatibility of Blue&Me:

I have SonyEricsson K800i which works almost OK, except it quite often forgets to disconnect from a car, and I have to turn phone off/on to get it working properly.

So, I checked list of compatible phones and bought Motorola Motorizr Z3, which is working perfectly and I have absolutely no issues with it.

But, I was really not amazed with Z3 poor performance (it is just slow and got limited Java capabilities and is working poorly with Opera Mini), so I bought Motorola ROKR Z6 (upgraded Z3 with new, 628 MHz CPU and new OS - Motomax, formerly known Juix), which works just bad. It can't synchronize contacts automatically (I can send one contact at a time only), and just works bad with Blue&Me as a handsfree. It disconnects shortly after connection and car is saying that it tries to reconnect without success. So, in short:

  • SonyEricsson K800i - BAD
  • Motorola RIZR Z3 - EXCELLENT
  • Motorola ROKR Z6 - BAD

Hi,
New to the forum......bought a Punto yesterday.....just 1 little problem!
Blue&me is almost perfect......Sony Ericsson K880i works great after an initial 20 mins of deciding what to do.
2gb sandisk memory stick works great.
I Downloaded Message Reader using link in this thread.....piece of p***. thanks for the link.

Now to the problem, which I know some others on here have had.....but I can't see an answer anywhere:
  • The voice of the "lady" is very quite unless I crank up the External Volume Control to about 15. This works great when the radios on, but when I use the External Volume, it also cranks up the media player volume. When I switch to media player is stupidly loud and just about blows my head off.
  • If I'm listening to media player with the volume at a reasonable level, the "lady"is almost silent. If the phone rings or I want to make a call, I have to turn the volume right up......but when the call ends it's a race against time to get the volume back down before the media player starts again.
Please.....can anyone resolve this for me? There must be an answer! I don't want to resort to deleting everything of the stick and resaving the music after lowering the Graphic Equalizer level for all the album tracks in Windows Media Player....that will be a right chore (and might not even work!).

Cheers in advance.

There must be an answer! I don't think there is - as you say its been raised here before and I am fairly sure that no-one has come up with an answer. People have said that there is an upgrade available from dealers - does anyone know if this solves the problem?

LG U990 won't work with Blue&me

Hi....I've just been upgraded to a new phone which is an LG U990. Great phone!...but after about 100 attempts this morning to connect up to the new GPS Blue&Me it's not having any of it. I'm quite new to the forum and didn't notice that Fiat have made a list of compatible phones (there are a couple of LG ones listed but not the U990) so I feel stupid choosing it in the first place.

I'm in the headache inducing process of trying to get the phone changed with my network but they are already being very difficult as you'd expect....18mnth contract too so I'm extremely P'd off as it will ultimately cost me hundreds for an exchange.

Anyhow's....just thought I'd mention this just in case anyone else was wanting one of these phones and save some bother.

PS. Tried my very old and battered Nokia 6280 and it worked perfectly first time...Great!?

johnrtaylor I have a RAZR2 v8 and with my car (Alfa 159) does exactly the same thing!!! I've got my car a few days ago and this was driving me crazy! :bang: I tried all sort of workarounds, but no success! Any idea, anyone?
Thank you.

Anyone any success with making Moto RAZR2 to work with Blue&Me?
Anyway, I think this thing B&M it's stupid - it's not admisible to have some phones working and some don't, it's simply stupid! (n)

Re: LG U990 won't work with Blue&me

Bit of a long shot, but if you've only recently changed your phone, check the small print (or whatever)......there might well be a "cooling-off" period so you can change your mind on the contract.
Might be worth a look.

Yep....they did have this option (16 days cooling-off or something) but it's too late as I had the phone sitting around for a bit.

I had another go at connecting today as phone shops deeply depress me...It's wierd cos the car 'finds' the phone and the phone 'finds' the blue&me (the car). It's when I do the final connect....just carries on for ever with the process bar on full trying to connect.

So close but yet so far :bang:

Follow up on my Media player volume (see previous post).

I took the car back and they booked it in for an examination.
I picked it up tonight......not expecting much. Would you believe it............problem solved! Result.

Apparently something to do with a minor wiring problem.....doubtful, but I'm not too bothered.

So, if you've got the same problem and the car's under warranty, take it back.

Just thought I'd mention it here as I couldnt find it mentioned anywhere else.

The MP3 player part of Blue&Me will only play MP3s with a maximum bitrate of 192kbps.

This might help some people like myself who were having problems getting their Blue&Me to play MP3s from pendrives and MP3 players.

I just picked mine up the weekend before last and it took me a few days to work it out.(Should have read the manual better).

picked up my 57 plate GP on friday with blue&me and so far not had no problems.

phone (samsung G600) paired up fine, although had to manually send contacts (easily done as the samsung allows you to send all at once. not had chance to try message reader yet.

as for ipod my 8gb nano video works fine with the radio, along with my sisters ipod video. having a problem with it repeating tracks instead of playing the next but i think i may of put it on loop by accident so just need to find out how to rectify. will update as i fiddle more!

'Random' playing of tracks from USB pendrive

Hi folks

Does anyone know whether it's possible to select a random setting for playing MP3 tracks from a USB pendrive? It's driving me nuts that they play in alphabetical order!

cheers

Re: 'Random' playing of USB pendrive tracks

I'm surprised yours plays in alphabetical order!

Even when I haven't got shuffle on, it still seems to play tracks within a folder in some weird order - it's not alphabetical or track number order - I haven't worked out how it does it!

Select "albums" rather than "folders" from the media player menu, and it will play tracks in the right order.
