Blue & Me - Tech Info and questions and answers

I thought the GP versions without the windows key on the steering wheel were not full blue&me systems. And they just had the convergence bluetooth phone functions and not the USB MP3 functions

That does seem to ring a bell from a thread somewhere. I certainly thought you needed the windows symbol (like on my 120 eleganza) to have full bluetooth functions.

with regards the Ipod connection a lot of it depends on what format the music is stored under. if it is Itunes it will not play the playlists etc etc it will only play the first track onwards everytime.
If it is stored as WMA or MP3 then it will work like a fully functional ipod through the stereo controls.
I have found this out the hard way when going thru the cars with customers.

it's a pain but you need to change the format from itunes.
remember this is developed with Microsoft, they dont want Itunes on their system now do they!

hope this helps you guys!

Just got our Eleganza on Saturday and Blue & me works perfect with wifes V3 and worked initially with my K750i but now when trying to dial with voice, car doesn't recognise the "yes" command and either goes back to audio device or message says call ended. Cheap mp3 player works a dream though, easier to access through car than actual player. I think it may be the phone to blame as it seems to shut down and start up by itself when connected to car.

OMG I have the same problem, she cant understand the word YES :bang: I'm also using a motorola v3i and it too randomly turns on and off, crash's..... constly. They really are baaaaad phones. Anyway I'm kinda glad its not just me. She can understand everything but the word yes. Strange and very annoying. I'm off to carphone

Got to say the V3 works perfect, just seems to be the K750i that pleases itself, so I'll blame the phone. Perfect system though.

Hi,

New question and hoping someone has an answer, when you make a call with Blue and Me how do you end the call without having to press the end call button on your phone? Is there a command or procedure to follow with the steering wheel controls?

I've made calls where the phone continues to ring out as no one is answering and when I've wanted to end the call and my phone is out of reach I cant do anything! Help please...

Just press the Dial (Main) button on the steering wheel for more than 1 sec. That should do the trick. ;) You can also reject incoming phone calls with the same trick.

BTW, it's all written down in the Blue&Me Practical Guide. ;) Useful links can also be found on the first page of this thread.

Re: Blue & Me - Tech Info

Hi All,

I've recently purchased a GP 1.4 16v Sporting, and after getting used to the handling, engine power etc (I used to own a Peugeot 306 Diesel - v sluggish), I'm now tinkering with all the toys it comes with. I've found that my Blue&Me isn't working at all. Neither the windows logo button or the phone "MAIN" button on the steering wheel work. I've gone through the manual, and don't feel as though I'm missing anything to activate the Blue&Me software. Can anyone give me any help in getting this started - or point out the thing I need to do to activate the menu?

Also my odometer has been flashing the whole time I've had it so far. It was at 0 when I got it, and is currenty clocking the miles I'm doing in it since driving it from the dealers. Thought it was something to do with the TRIP computer, but after reseting TripA and TripB it still flashes.

Has anyone else had the same problems I'm having? Please give me any advice.

Btw I'm so pleased with the GP's performance......beats that Peugeot hands down.

Hello Folks,

Just a bit of info for you all.

Took delivery of my GP sporting today :slayer: and apart from a few probs (posted in another thread) am made up with it.

I have seen a few people ask about using the SE K800i with B&M. When I first tried to pair the phone using the "auto" mode it didnt grab the phone book. However, of you delete all the user data, then manually pair the phone, mine worked perfectly.

Takes a while to copy the phone book, but just bear with it. Looks like it's not doing anything, but actually (maybe where I had problems at the start, patience!)

Also, connected my media player, a Rio Carbon, and all works perfectly, read 4Gb worth of mp3 and wma files without any problems.

Looking forward to getting on the road and hearing the sub thump!!(y)

Just an update, installed the message reader and it works great with a K800i.

Just make sure that you have the latest firmware on you phone. Use the SE auto update tool, I did and it works, can't guarantee it will for everyone though!

Finally! FIAT has released the language pack for Blue&Me. So, if you are like me, who got an Italian speaking car, now you can "officially" change the Blue&Me language to English. You can download the different language files here. :D

Hi,

Just a quick question. The message reader is working on my K800i, I get a message and it reads out ok, but does not display the name of the person who sent it.

Anyone else had this prob, have a solution?

Cheers

Awaiting arrival of my new GP 1.4 16v Sporting. Just wondered if anyone has tried pairing a Motorola L7 with the Blue & Me?
I know it's not in the list of compatible phones but you never know!

It should work just fine. All Motorola phones are happy with Blue&Me, because they use the same platform. Even the Message Reader should work.

Thanks for that. I hope you're right otherwise it means getting another phone!

Hi all,

Recently got a 1.4 Dynamic Sport and am having a couple of teething problems with the Blue & Me:

There is a huge volume difference between the media player and the radio - very annoying as the media player starts automatically each time I start the engine and will be at a deafening level if I'd previously had the radio on. I've tried adjusting down the external volume setting but this also makes the voice commands inaudible.

Does anyone know how to stop it automatically starting the media player? I have set the auto-play function to off but it makes no difference.

Finally, has anyone managed to get the system to recognise iPod playlists?

Cheers,

Rob

Has anyone out there found a memory stick/flash drive that will actually work with Blue & Me?
I bought a cheap one off ebay but it doesn't see it, comes up "NO MEDIA" I should of guessed as much as the Windows Media Player on my computer wouldn't recognise it either.

My Creative Zen Nano isn't recognised either. :(
