Blue & me retrofitting?

What would I need to retrofit blue & me into an older fiat?
Heck, before I get ahead of myself is it even possible??

Just been thinking during this completely and utterly boring weekend and the possibility of it was irresistible

yup I really am that bored!!!!
seriously what would one need to do it? just the b&m headunit or would I need loads of rewiring done first??

I dont think its possible, you would need to find someway of fooling the body computer to accept it. I think B&M needs comm from the cars CAN network to work, so it would be a lot of work.....

what's the CAN network? a network of some kind I guess

You would need to find a way of telling the car that B&M is there, it may not be possible after the original set up

Even less possible if its not a B&M fitted car too.

PS i have seen a pic on a turkish GP forum of B&M working on a guys kitchen table connected to a set of clocks from the Linea.

At the very least youd need the head unit, Convergence unit (the acutal computer) and possibly the steering controls.

So it's a case of being possible but completely and utterly impractical then..

And there I was thinking it was a case of simply whacking in the headunit, wiring her up and getting the controls in (I doubt the GP steering wheel would fit a Mk2!).
