Blue & me iPod Adapter and iOS 4/iPhone 4?

Everytime i plug my iphone 4 in to the USB, the track will jump... just like a scratched CD, anyone else noticing this??

update: this morning i've tried hard reset (hold home+standby button until apple logo appeared) before connecting my iPhone 3GS to Blue&M3 and it worked. i think i didnt performed hard reset properly previously.

the adaptor recognized my 3GS and the media player recognized all the songs/playlist and played well (doesnt skipped anymore) as before (iPhone OS 3.x.x)

on the telephone side, i had to re-paired iPhone with Blue&Me
1. go to iPhone bluetooth settings, 'forget this device' for Blue&Me
2. go to Blue&Me setting and pair your iPhone as per Blue&Me manual

hope this help :)

This must be a strange one, as i read this forum and was waiting for all the problems mentioned above.

Media (with adapter):
Plugged it straight in, no problems with skipping songs, Spotify play far better, it dosn't drop back to the ipod after every song. All seems to be working great.

Bluetooth:
Yes seem to be fine aswell, it now even uses the "Custom" ringtone though the car, and not the annoying standard Blue and Me one.

Ive not looked into the text message side, has anyone else?

Text messaging is still non existant as FIAT have chosen to implement a very specific Sony Erricson protocol (not that all SE phones are compatible eg Xperia).

Today media plays fine, yet the only change is to lower the volume of playback on the iPhone before i plugged it in.

I think I solved my problem of not being able to play the ipod using the adaptor having upgraded.

I did the hard reset and it didn't work, but today I plugged it in and switched on the ignition without turning on the car radio. I can't remember what this is called (M something?). It played for a while. Then for the rest of the day I'm back on track.

Thanks to everyone for their suggestions, it seems I didn't go that extra mile.

I'm sooo pleased.

I tried this today and unfortunately it doesn't work for me. I get a few seconds of the ipod playing then the stereo reverts to the radio.

Hey peeps, ok so normally I just look around on forum, but never registered.

Anyway... Just thought I'd let you know that updating the blue&me firmware to 5.4 will rectify the issues that you are all having.

Follow link fiat(dot)co(dot)uk/blueandme (sorry won't allow me to post URL) Click on blue&me Help > Then Upgrade

Having had issues yesterday I checked on here tried peoples advice and no such luck, decided to check what firmware version was available from Fiat and there was a new version updated my Grande Punto Sporting and 'et voila' iPhone compatible again!

Good luck!

Hi, i updated my iphone 3g to ios 4.0 and did the same to blue&Me (new software 5.5). Everything is working fine, except charging the battery. My phone is connected to bluetooth and cable for listening ipod music. Even with ipod turned off my battery is draining instead of charging. Need some advise what to do.

PS: i've noted that happens even with previous software on iphone and also on blue&me

Thanks

My phone was working fine until now on the new iOS4... It's even better than the older software... Ringtones play thru the speakers of the car, the volume whilst on a call automatically is set to louder (I always had to turn the volume up when initiating a call or else I would hear nothing)
And the music seems to play a lot smoother on iOS4 (On certain songs I used to experience some blob noises)

But yesterday I wanted to sync the iphone to my pc and he wouldn't recognize the phone. Only today when I tried it again it worked, but when I went out with the car blue and me suddenly doesn't recognize my phone again:bang:

So everytime I'm having to hard reset the phone to listen music in my car, and then figure out how to sync it to my pc. And the next day hard reset it again.
That's not supposed to be the solution to something I paid £70 for.

I'm gonna figure out now if my blue and me needs an firmware upgrade..

This has happened to me. I thought I'd solved the problem then synched my phone yesterday (bought a new audiobook) and lo! I only get a couple of sentences and the sound reverts to the radio. I'm really fed up with this.

I tried hard reset a couple of times and got a bit longer play but a couple of scratching noises and then reverted to the radio again.

Ok, went to add more music to iPhone and update recovery datat, and then phone refused to work!

BUT..... Hard reset (press both power and home button until phone has shut down and once apple logo appears you can let go of the buttons), then once phone has loaded back up, with car switched off plug in iPhone and switch ignition to 'MAR' and it will work, annoyingly for now everytime you sync with a PC you will have to re-do this to get it working again in car!

Hard resetting is annoying as I charge up my iphone from my pc so effectively that means resetting alot.

I've downloaded the update Blue&Me software but am seeing all sorts of problems with that too.

Hi All,

Here is the results of the tests I've done so far (with Fiat B&M 5.5 installed) :

1. iPhone4 w/ios 4.0 with adapter connected after car on : plays for a few seconds and then back to radio

2. iPhone4 w/ios 4.0 hard reset and the, connect to USB with car on : plays for a few seconds and then back to radio

3. iPhone4 w/ios 4.0 off and connected and then car on : plays for longer but sound is like a bad ripped CD (scratch and hiss)

4. Iphone3GS w/ios 4.0 (no matter the way I plug it in) : takes a long time before starting the playback but plays as expected and as it always did. Menus are working properly.

Next steps are reset the B&M by disconnecting the battery and update bothe phones to ios 4.0.1 (although there are other post on the forum saying that they started to have problem after this upgrade).

Fiat/Microsoft/Apple Please do something if you are reading this :)

Tell us what did/didn't work for you.

Hi all!

I'm new here and want to share my results:

I have a Croma (2008) and a 500 (2009), my wife and me have an Iphone 3G, 3GS and since a couple of days I replaced the 3G with an Iphone 4.
In both cars we have blue&me with the iphone/ipod adapter.

Both b&m systems are updated to software 5.5
All 3 Iphones have the very new software 4.1

Results:
3G and 3GS always worked perfectly in both cars.
I had big problems with Iphone 4; b&m recognized it and I could choose the music but it bumped like old vinyl-discs every couple of seconds.

I read your advises and tried the one with turning out compleately the phone, connect it to b&m and then start the car.
By starting the car (500) the phone turned on and for about 3-4 minutes nothing happened. B&M didn't even find any media.
So I disconnected everything and reconnected and ... oh wonder! ... it works! I listened to Iphone-music for about 10 minutes and it worked perfectly!

Now I tried to connect the phone to Itunes and it works as usual!

So thank you so much for the good advice!! :)

Hi
Just overcome all the problems with the adapter and a 3GS phone with 4.0 software! Mine played for 6 seconds then disconnected and phone wouldn't connect via bluetooth.

Upgrade your Blue&Me software to 5.5 version.
Upgrade your iPhone software to 4.1 version.

Bluetooth now works and can use media player!

Hello everybody
does anyone tried the iphone4 4.2 OS and the update5.5 of B&M without adapter?
I had before the update problems with my ipod and now it works fine, but as they say to fiat, now there will be no need for the adapter anymore.
Thanks

I updated my Fiat Linea's Blue&Me SW to v 5.5. I have media adaptor too [purchased before updating].

I tested my daughter's iPhone 4.0.2. It didn't play without the adaptor. It displayed 'No Media Available'. Later, I tesed it with the adaptor. It played for a few seconds and automatically switched over to FM radio! I tried this several times with the same results. Maybe, some bug to play iPod of the iPhone.

Curiously, it played my another daughter's iPod Nano and my son's iPod without [and also with] the adaptor. Before updating, these iPods didn't play without the adaptor.

I've started having a problem with my B&M and IPod touch..I have a 56 GP Sporting, And up until this week had a Ipod Classic, Until i spilt Coke on it and shorted it..I now have a Ipod Touch 64Gb(The Last Generation, Not the new one) And my car doesn't even acknowledge the Ipod..Read that they're not compatible etc..But judging by recent threads they are now...Anyone have any idea's if or how to solve this..Do i need adaptor etc..It just used to plug in before..
