hello all, i've been looking at grande punto 1.4 16v and the 1.9 diesel and both have 2 usb's how come there would be 2 usb's?

The one in the glovebox is for updating the software and the one at the lower section of the centre console is for general use (music etc)
Someone correct me if im wrong lol.

there is one next to the the aux and another one with a windows sticker with a cover on, does the cover come off or does that mean you cant update

the aux and the usb with a cover on it are in the glovebox, aux far left with usb next to it and the one with the cover on it far right

Hmm, thats odd, i was thinking about my sisters bravo, maybe someone can shed some more light that has a bit more knowledge than i do.

I have 1 USB port for blue and me for my Grande punto but it is a S1, im thinking the s2 is different.

I always understood that the left USB was a service port for the technicians.

The USB at the the top/right is part of the Blue&Me ECU and is the "service/back-up" port and should not be used (breaking it can affect the ECU).

Use the one on the far left with the USB symbol near it.

my linea (grande punto sedan ver.) has only one usb in the consol (usb is part of blue and me control) and i use it for every thing

Shouldnt even be there if it can break things, fiat are stupid

It's not Fiat's fault if people can be clumsy (usually it gets broken because people leave a USB stick in, fill up the glovebox, then slam it shut and ram the stick into the ECU). This is why the 'proper' USB socket is over to the left hand side out of the way. ;)

It should have a plastic cover over it, but people get nosy and remove it, then think they have a spare USB socket.

For Bravo's, Linea's, etc, Fiat moved the USB socket to the centre console so it's easier to access.
