20% of audi a3's have faulty turbo's which is within an internal recall which use the same turbo's. how bad is that.
VAG reliability is very overrated imo

My turbo sucked the intake pike into it after 2 days and 200 miles..., however the garage quickly replaced it and now only has to go in for stupid niggles like engine coolant leak, engine remap, water in tailgate, squeaky brakes....
wouldn't swap her for the world tho!

yeah thats my point, new found respect for vag reliability......But that just indicates the pipe was connected well enough if it blew off. Nothing to do with reliability its down to humans

yes, the whole point of the story was to show our utter shock that the turbo / engine hadnt blown up. i reckon 9 out of 10 people would have bet on the turbo or the rings being shagged..... so thats why i have a bit more respect for the vw now. the way he was ragging the arse of it i was planning funeral songs .......Ireally dont understand why? I could go and do the same in my car and the IC pipe could pop off.

strange i said the very same thing to him whilst i was leaving claw marks on the passenger dashboard........:bang:Or maybe your mate should stop driving like a complete :tosser:
I still dont see how its a VAG thing
Hi everyone. I use to know someone who worked at the Fiat garage but they left while the car was being fixed. They knew about the ECU remap and I even asked them would it be overwritten when i got the car back?
I even got asked to give the details of where I got my car remapped a few months ago. However, Im sure Fiat would not be too happy if they found this out???? I'm not sure - perhaps others can comment on this.
I would like to get the car checked over with GSR but again it is now down to cost. I just want the car to be working at its best. After a year reading the messages on the forum I decided to go with Angel Tuning and they even offered a rolling road to show me the difference before and after. The amount of smoke that came out after the re-map was shocking, chucking out all the dirt. It is a diesel and you always get some crap coming out the exhaust when you put your foot down - or am i totally wrong here. Since I got the car back a little bit of white smoke always comes out the exhaust almost every time i start the engine. I suppose I'm keeping more of an eye on the vehicle now - is this normal or should I mention something to the garage.
Anyway, that is it all now? Look forward to reading other people's views!
Sorry if I am sounding totally dump and stupid but i'm not a mechanic and never owned a diesel car before.
