Does anyone know how I can get the correct dimensions for the coolant bleed screw that fits on the hose joint at the rear of the engine?

I stupidly lost mine and I'm not getting much luck with local yards - so I'm looking for a quick fix until one can be delivered - by Tues hopefully!

Also, do you think that it'll be okay to even try such a 'stunt'?

Cheers guys, Jim.

take the top bolt out of the headlight on the slam panel
put a slight wisp of ptf tape on the threads (screwfix £1)
finger tight this bolt into your heater hose
run up to temp looking for leaks
if non ,run car sensibly till one gets posted to you

look down back of driveshaft to gearbox for yours

Thanks for that - appreciate it.

As for mine, bloody spent a while looking - short of rolling around in the wet

I think it's a standard M10 screw. I spent half a day looking for a lost brake reservoir cap that I eventually shook loose from the nether regions of the engine bay by braking hard in forward and reverse a few times with the pressure bleeder still attached:rolleyes: Not a Punto.

I now have a few of these spare, in the boot. They also fit the air filter box; and -- temporarily -- the inlet manifold bracket on top of the cam carrier (on a 16v), when you've forgotten that you put the proper bolt (which has a flange) on the scuttle (to keep it safe...).
