Right soon to get my stilo but i need to do some things as soon as i get the car!

Need to lower the car! its coming with 17" 5 spoke and i need to deck the car can i get 50mm drop on a stilo with 17"s

has anyone on here had there jtd remapped, cause im looking to get it remapped!

i just wanted to know what sort of figures people had got???

If you want to know about remapping the JTD, the best best is to speak to Nigel or Andy at Angel Tuning (http://www.angeltuning.co.uk).

If you decide to go down this route, you should consider joining Club Stilo (http://www.clubstilo.com) as Angel Tuning offer special rates to Club Stilo members.

i allready know these guys and im sorry i no much better company! some may know Pieter from GSR his work i far better and cheaper! spoke to nigel and all he did was go on about his punto so i ignored him!

has anyone had a remap!

LOL, I went on about my Punto as you had a Punto! Please go to GSR, so long as they bring your JTD's 0-60 under 8 seconds with just a remap AND you dont get the 3000rpm problems and for less than our price - you can't loose :).

No hard feelings, just my misinterpretation of your question a long time ago - my fault entirely, didnt realise you wanted to know about a Stilo.

Did you ever find out how that Greek company manage to chip the 1.6 and 1.8 Stilos?

Be careful about tints as the Police have powers to stop your vehicle and make you have them removed before you can drive further.
It relates to the level of light transmitted through the glass.
70% but not to sure iff that is right.
New legislation.
Yes, lots of cars have it including Tony Blare!!!!!
But at the end of the day its your licence.

A friend of mine has a Saxo with factory tints, at the time he got the optional tints, they were legal. At the start of this year they changed the law so that basically NO level of tint is allowed. My m8 was stopped by a traffic cop, had a prohibition notice put on his car (meaning he wasnt allowed to drive it home and it had to be towed home with all 4 wheels off the floor) he also got 3 points and a £60 fine. He now has to remove the tints, get an MOT done on the car and although this will clear the notice, it can take up to 6 months to clear it on the computer systems, which means he will get stopped by all police cars with number plate recognition computers on board.
The police are cracking down round here so much so that im in the process of removing mine.
Im not happy about it but I wanna keep a clean lisence.

That is bulls**t, how can he be done for driving a factory car[:0][:0][:0]

How dark were his tints anyway? I bet all the old foggies with blacked out people carrier windows manage to get away with it, one nearly hit me the other day on a garage forecourt as his windows were so dark he couldn't see where he was going.

Well when he bought the car, they were legal. But then the law changed and he knew nothing about it. I think the copper just wants modified cars of the road (to$$er)!

Probably, it sounds very dodgy, some police make the rules up as they go along, but they usually have the upper hand anyway.

I once had this tiny little copper literally pinning me up against my car trying to provoke me into thumping him.

The reason? Some anon trouble maker had called saying I was fighting with my Dad, lucky for me I was actually out at the time, but returned home to find my parents trying to explain to the police it was a malicious call. Anyway, the copper decides he doesn't want to leave it there, so came across to me as I got out of my car and started being aggressive. I just had to keep calm, what else can you do?

BTW, neither me nor any member of my family has ever been in trouble, associated with trouble, it was just some copper in a bad fettle trying to stir it up.

Sorry to go off topic, but some police (not all) are just bent as nine bob note!

I owned a Saxo VTS, i had the whole spares catalog available when i ordered my car, there was no factory tints option, the side windows were tinted as standard, something like a typical 5% tint! Which is only noticeable from the inside, cuts some glare, but isn't noticeable from the outside!

I'd think your mate might have had the windows tinted by the garage who supplied the car, which might explain the legality!

I've got to say, when I got my saxo it was the same, no tint option, but that was back in 98, things could have changed, how long ago did you have your VTS?

Stilo TURBO!!!!(diesel)

Yep, i think they cottoned on right at the start, but they couldn't afford the VTS until it was a few years old! So they'd just screwdriver off the 16v badges on the sides and stick them on their Nova's. I should know both of mine were "removed" and at £16-odd each not cheap to replace! Which i did, being vein an' all!

I was only 18 at the time, so a VTS wasn't even considered, I really wanted a VTR, but you had to be 21 to get the free insurance so a 1.1sx it was, it had all the toys of the VTR, just not the bodykit or performance:( That said though, a mate has a VTR and it didn't seem as quick as stat would suggest.

Ive been looking into tinting the windows on my stilo and one of the companys i emailed for a quote (The only one to reply!) Says that the front windows cant be tinted if they have a factory tint as they are already at the max legal tint for the front. The rear quarters and/or doors and rear window can be tinted without a problem though im not sure on the amount of tint ..(Limo tint is prob illegal anywhere now)
