General  bio diesel

General  bio diesel

Kind of a side line.

But the government introducing the bio diesel has meant other stuff like bread etc. has gone up due to the process in making it.

Its all a huge circle.

Where at all possible i check that the supplier uses WVO (waste veg oil), rather than fresh rape seed oil. I figure the only way to be truly green is to use something that would, ordinarily, be disposed of in a non useful way, as a replacement for something bad (fossil fuels) :)

Gives the chippys a cheap way to get rid of the oil after a couple of months :D

In egypt its about 20p a litre!!!! (1.30 LE a litre - exchange rate = 1 Egyptian pound = 0.0957237213 British pounds)

how the heck did you know that!!!

anyways, diesel is actually cheaper, but do bear in mind that oil in Egypt is heavily government subsidised as they produce a lot of their own oil.

we still moan though!!!

Went to Egypt a while back and used the google conversion calculation to work out the cost hehe.

Funny how the Americans complain about a slight increase to near 50p a litre and here we are with £1.30 almost for diesel.

Been running my Marea 130 JTD on 100% BD for well over a year. No problem whatsoever even with cold starts in the winter and dodgy glowplugs. Just MOT'd the car so checked emissions against fossil diesel at last MOT and they have dropped significantly. Haven't even had to change the fuel filter (though I do keep a spare in the car just in case).
I home produce or use a local BD supplier if I run out.
No smoke, no smell. Perfect.
