Bike licence

I paid £300 fully comp on my CBR600 and that was my first big bike. That was including telling them that the exhaust had been changed to a sports version. If you look around for deals, you can get insurance quite cheaply. I always go to moneysupermarket.com and see what they come up with. Btw I'm 23 so still in the young rider insurance group!!

that is cheap, lowest i can get for a CBR is 600 annum, full comp... :) hopping it will go down after all the advanced training i will do after i pass..

cheapest bike i can get insured for is a suzuki SV, and i got it down to "400 fully comp... :)

Checked the company and it is Bikesure that I am insured with. Age, sex and location seem to make major difference with bike insurance, even more so than cars.

i passed my bike test at 17... ment i could ride big bikes at 19 :p but anyway... like me you have a little ****ty thing to worry about... i only passed my car test last year... and while i had a clean lisence with all 12points when i passed my car test i get put back on the probation thingy with only 6points... how pathetic is that!

edit* my insurance is about 200quid fully comp with recovery and loads of stuff.

Before going for license you must get Learner Licence. I think so.
If you look on your licence it will tell you all the classes of vehicles you are licenced to drive and all the classes you have a Provisional licence for. If you have a car licence and are under 18 then it should say you have a Provisional licence for A1 which is restricted motorcycle and moped (can't remember what that is now) and if you are over that you should have entitlement to drive (provisionally) C1 which is rigid goods vehicle over 3.5 tonnes but under 7.5 tonnes. You should also have provisional entitlement for B+E which is basically car plus trailer. If someone is over 21 they will have provisional entitlement for C+E which is basically large goods vehicle over 7.5 tonnes (C) and with trailer (C+E). Essentially A1 = Restricted mtorcycle, A = Unrestricted
motorcycle, B = Car and commercial vehicle up to 3.5 tonnes, C1 = Commercial vehicle up to 7.5 tonnes, C1+E = commercial vehicle up to 7.5 tonnes with a trailer which usually adds up to 8.25 tonnes, C = Rigid Commercial vehicle over 7.5 tonnes, C+E = Commercial vehicle over 7.5 tonnes plus trailer (theoretically unlimited) D1 = Passenger carrying vehicle with more than 9 seats but less than 18 (I think) and D = Passenger carrying vehicle with more than 17 seats plus the usual +E for trailers. Who really wanted to know all that? Er, well.....I don't really know, but I'm afraid I'm like a tube of Pringles, Once I start I just can't stop.

on my card licence i have b, b1 and fkp...

and on my paper counterpart i have a, be and gh..

there is some good advice on what the provisional entitlements are in here...

The exciting world of motoring is opening up before your eyes. You have full entitlement to drive a car, motor bike and sidecar (ey-up Grommit) a quad bike, one of those little 3-wheeler Piaggio pick up things they use to empty the street side bins in Italy and Spain and, it would seem a moped, although I thought you now had to take a test for a moped, must be out of touch. You also have provisional entitlement to drive a car and trailer, a motorcyle, a steam roller and a bulldozer. Holy Cow I hope Rolf doesn't see this. Roooooooooolffff, Nooooooooooooooooooooooooo!!!!!!!!!!!!!
