Bike licence

CBA reading the thread, but motorbikes are ace.

Get your DAS license now before the EU make it nigh on impossible.

will do.. doing by CBT in Feb as my DAS...(y)

i better be quick too as the government are adding changes in march... :(

the 33bhp limit is so crap, that's why iam going straight for the DAS training, get any bike i want then... :D

:D :D:D Thats what you think. Have you checked out the insurance requirements yet? Under 25? New license? Zero NCB?. Your choices will be severly limited due to the fact you will find it impossible to get cover on the tasty stuff.

BTW. The 33bhp is not crap.....its to stop people like you who think they know better from killing themselves....and more importantly others.

i have done a check on a comparison website for even a honda cbr 600 and that only worked out at £700 min annually..

as i have said in my previous post ^ i do know not to go jumping on the biggest/ most powerful bike i can afford... that's why iam opting for extra training even after i pass... :)

I bought it form a guy I worked with, he gave me the keys with the words "...until you get used to it keep it below 7000rpm..." took me over a month to pluck the courage up to find out what he meant :D

Should have known tho, the rev counter started at 3000rpm :slayer:
I hardly ever see the top side of 7000 as that point seems to be directly linked to my sphincter. The power band on mine goes from 2000 to 9000. In 4th it goes from 40 to 100 in the length of time it takes to pass a HGV. Good old air cooled grunt.

will do, when i pass we could have a meet and all do some extra training same time.... :) get few other members too.

love Honda bikes.. (y)

Maybe think about Hornet first. If you fancy a Suzuki instead, the SV650 is very good.....and cheap.

the SV is a good bike... as Ffoxy about them as he had the thou.(y)

Suzuki SV650/s... :yum:

engine size: 645cc
power: 69bhp
top speed: 123mph

£3,999 :)

so they do seem to be quite good then, can't match the honda for reliability, but meh... :D

have fun simonuk before you by bike get insurance quote sv650 are quite low and cost 100 for restrictor kit if you wanted to go that way.
try bennets ebike good for young driver.

cheers (y)

i have heard that restrictor kits put the engine under strain as the bike is not using it's full capacity... correct me if iam wrong...

I'd love to thanks, but I'm on nights tonight, tomorrow and Sunday so I'll be goosed. Thanks for the offer though.

no probs. next time you're not and fancy it give me a shout. normally a ride out most weekends or in the summer week day evenings(y)

Hmm, I'm on standby Sunday but I'm fairly sure I might have to do my home duty instead of being allowed out on the bike.

SimonUK - nudie bikes such as Lolita's, the SV650 or the new Kwaks like ER6N are good first bikes. The lack of a fairing really does make them feel vastly faster than you are going - artificially keeping things more sedate.

Hey you :)

Might do, don't usually make plans for that far ahead!

Haven't used bike much in last 6 months because I'm a fair weather rider

Trying to talk the current missBFD into getting on the back with me, she has the body for leathers but her uncle took her out once on his bike and scared her so she's taking some convincing!

I paid £300 fully comp on my CBR600 and that was my first big bike. That was including telling them that the exhaust had been changed to a sports version. If you look around for deals, you can get insurance quite cheaply. I always go to moneysupermarket.com and see what they come up with. Btw I'm 23 so still in the young rider insurance group!!
