Best budget Amp.

Hi all.

wondering if anyone can recommend a decent cheap Amp.

I recently burnt mine out after overpowering it. :bang:

checked all inline fuses, stereo preout connections, earthing, radio live feed. everything fine.

playing quite heavy bass tune, suddenly bass cut out. strong smell of burning. Amp in usual position where ventilation is very good (ie not covered/blocked).

Not the Sub driver, checked on a friends Amp. same with HU Preouts.



Im looking for something that is around 800watt, min 2 channel. budget isnt spectacular, around £40. so i realise it will be basic equipment. but something that will do the job.

What do you want 2 channels minimum for. What is it to run. A 2 channel amp is likely to be between 120 and 200w RMS.
If its to run 2 400w subs then have you thought of connecting them together and using a single amp?

Also your best bet is to scour fleabay for a second hand bargain. Any new £40 amp wont be worth the metal its made from.

direct replacement for what i have.

although was only using 1 channel for a majority of the time. and when i did run 2 subs was running them bridged.

The idea for the new car is to be able to run both new rear speakers and a sub.

at the moment i was having to run sub and speakers separately. and having to change the cross over accordingly to if i wanted treble or bass.

looked on Ebay, was just wondering what people might recommend anything. not really looked at manufacturers. the Amp i use is a 600watt, 2 channel that came bundled with my 1000watt Sub. both budget, but do the job. However that might explain why the Amp burnt out with it been budget

I picked up a vibe slick a2 and jbl gto 75.2 on ebay for a good price and very very good condition.

I might just buy a 5 channel amp soon and re sell these amps on ebay or gumtee

Saves the hassle of linking them all together with distribution blocks ect!
