The cam/timing belt on my (new to me) 1999 ducato based motorhome is well over due and to be done asap.
Can anyone recommend which other belts might be worth replacing while the mechanics arw working on it please?

Ask the mecanics doing the Job?

No doubt alternator, power steering etc etc

Yes i will ask but wanted external opinions so they don't just try and rip me off for being a girl. I like to have a bit of info at my disposal before hand!

Cambelt failure can be catastrophic to the engine which is why it is changed at specified mileage/time intervals. The tensioner is usually changed at the same time. The belt and tensioner are normally supplied as part of a kit.

Failure of other belts is inconvenient but not catastrophic.

Belts have to come off to do the timing belt anyway so there shouldn't be additional labour involved. Good brand gates/dayco/conti auxiliary and air conditioning belts if it has a/c should be only about £10-£15 each.

Failure of other belts is inconvenient but not catastrophic.

Unless it goes through the timing cover as happened my neighbour but you'd usually have plenty of warning.

I am fully aware of what cam belt failure can mean, thank you, which is why I am getting it done asap before the van goes anywhere else.

I have found a garage recommended by a mechanic friend and the chat there seems very helpful and will have a look at at all the other belts while he is in there.
