Hi!
Ive recently had squeaking on cold start.
I have a new v-belt that I thought to put on.
However I can’t figure out how to losen the belt. It is just around three pullies (alternator, from engine and one more).
Everything I find online has other layouts.
What am I missing? The model is a 2001 (registered 2003), Fiat Ducato, 2.8 JTD.
Thanks for all help in advance.
Adding a few pictures from what I see when taking the front right wheel off and cover from underside.

Year
2001

I have several AutoData Technical books but they are fairly scarce on the routing of serpentine belts on your model, most seem to have a jockey wheel or guide as well as what you have shown.
Normally if only the three pulleys you have shown then the alternator has a sliding adjustment.
If you can run your hand up all the way around the pulleys and belt and there is no other tensioner pulley and you are sure the alternator and the other pulley (possibly the water pump?) then I am at a loss, the only other thing I have seen is "stretch belts" used on some Fords, these were a right pain to fit as needed a special guide tool to wrap the new belt around the pulley under tension as you turned the crankshaft pulley bolt.
I have never heard of them on your engine though.
Is it possible there is a top tensioner pulley/guide between the alternator and the water pump pressing down on the non grooved side of the multigroove belt?
Not likely , but I wouldn't suggest cutting the old belt off as if yours is an odd one, then a good chance your new belt may be the wrong length, so will need matching up.

Yes only 3 pulleys. Alternator, water pump, and crankshaftt.
Attached extract from Fiat eLearn for the x244 2.8jtd, to which I have added required spanner sizes. I do not expect the 2.8jtd fitted into an x230 to be different.

Carefully count the number of turns when slackening the adjuster, and use as a guide when retightening.
