General Beep Beep Boot Open ?????

If the micro switch is duff you gotta change the lock..same happens with the panda savi..:(

you will have to remove the lock mechanism from the boot first, when you follow the cable that is going inside the mechanism you will find the microswitch - check if it is properly attached and if it switches o.k. with near to zero ohm resistance when the contacts close...
Maybe a bit of contactspray can do the trick...

I've just had a look at it, all seems ok, it's all intact and functional but still the red light is on and BOOT OPEN message.

How much is a new mechanism gonna cost? Should I be seated?

You might be able to fix the microswitch so it's working at the right moment.

Here it is

I did mine a few years ago so I must have done it right. But then again, I'm lucky that way

If not and the switch has had it then it's a new lock assembly as Phil says

Problem solved!

The plastic gromits in the micro switch were worn, so my only option was to replace the whole lock mechanism OR as I found, cable tie the switch closed, problem disappears, no beep beep, no message on dash, no cost, cheap, cheap!

Happy days................................

Now that's just plain cheating. How will you ever know if your boot is open when driving along now?:)

Won't that affect the alarm ie it wont go off if someone breaks in through the boot? Aww who cares, you fixed it

You now wont have a boot light and if you don't close the boot properly, there will be no warning.

No, no, no, the funny thing is that even though I've cable tied the switch closed, the thing still works, boot open message if boot is open, message goes off if it's shut, wierd but true!

In that case you may have 2 micro switches in the mechanism. I know mine does. Maybe if you have a factory fit alarm there is 2. I don't know, but most seem to have only one.
