Technical Been to the breakers :D

just been to a local Fiat only breakers yard, picked up some front struts that will be doner units towards making a new set of dampers for my car (i work at Gaz shocks) i have a X reg Seicento sporting, what sort of drop is reasonable and most common with these?
Annnnd, they had the Seicento abarth wheels, going for £150 with tyres, is that a good price?

40 is about as low as you can go without running into problems (speedbumps, excessive component wear, etc.).

I'd leave the Abarth wheels alone if performance is the objective as you can only fit 185/50/14 to them, which leaves you with Contis at Conti prices or rubbish.

Thank you, i dont think ill drop that far, i would like the wider tyre i would get on the abarth wheels! Plus they look better then my wheels

BUT you can only get 185/50/14 on them (5.5J). With 6Js you can run 195/45/14 (or -- if you can avoid speedbumps -- 195/40/14). Note that the "genuine" Abarth cars ran a lower final drive to account for the raised overall gearing. The Abarths came with some rather nifty front spacers -- get them.

40 is an off the shelf drop thats been done many times before, i don't think theres much call to make any shocks for that sort of drop?

my cinquecento is dropped 60mm at the front, and runs on 14" (6j) wheels with 195 toyo proxes

thanks all. ill leave the wheel's. the shocks wont cost me any thing, nor will springs. Perks of the job.
